Breath is life and life is breath. Therefore the quality of your breath directly affects the quality of your life. Your health, your state of mind, your happiness, your ability to focus, and your energy. It is the single most powerful thing that you can change to drastically improve all aspects of your live in an incredibly short time. And the best thing about pranayama? Everyone can do it - everyone who is alive, that is! Yep, that includes you!

Pranayama actually goes beyond the breath because it also encompasses how we manage and direct the life force energy, which is the greater, underlying energy behind and within everything. We can charge our prana levels in many ways - breathing consciously and deeply, being out in nature, physical movement, keeping our negative thoughts in check, and minimising our exposure to negative information and people (the news, advertising, negative people, especially gossip), are just a few ways.

Yogi Bhajan, the Master of Kundalini Yoga, said: 

“80 percent of our pranic energy is wasted. On emotions and commotions, feelings and dealings, yelling and screaming, talking of negative things and listening to such talk”
